The Project
Finding Fleetwood is a growing collection of digital storytelling trails and experiences about and around Fleetwood being created with Fleetwood people.
This is the Fleetwood section of a larger project called Discover Wyre Trails that will see new digital storytelling trails and experiences being developed around Fleetwood, as well as in other places in the local area, all accessible in one place.
These trails are exploring different ways of thinking and speaking about Fleetwood and the experiences of people who live, work and visit here.
This is a collaborative project being developed by this great adventure, working with a range of content development partners in Fleetwood, volunteers and members of the public.
The Trails
Statues Speak - Hear the history of Fleetwood told by some of the town’s beloved statues.
Memories on a Postcard - Browse through a selection of memories written by Fleetwood locals on the back of old postcards.
Stories from the Museum - Watch a collection of short films with members of Fleetwood Museum talking about some of the most significant objects in their collection.
Natural Wonders - Learn about wildlife and environments as you walk along the Fleetwood coastline from Rossall Point to Affinity.
Through our Eyes - See Fleetwood through the eyes of young film-makers from Blackpool Sixth College!
ART-ists - Listen to local artists talking about their work and how Fleetwood inspires them.
Health and Wellbeing - Visit hubs around town at: The Mount, Memorial Park, Affinity, and the Beach to discover tips, activities, videos, and interviews all about Health and Wellbeing in Fleetwood.
The ‘Finding Fleetwood’ Game Map
Finding Fleetwood has been turned into an interactive game board which is brought out for special occasions, such as Heritage Week. The aim is to get to the end and explore the stories of Fleetwood as you go.
