Hey look out! Mind that tram!
When you walk down Lord Street, you need to watch out for trams. Especially if you’re a dog like me.
Hi I’m Fleet, Fleetwood’s most famous dog.
There have been trams running through Fleetwood for 100 years, taking passengers to and from Cleveleys and Blackpool.
In fact, we’re the only town centre in the country to have trams running all the way down the main street, sharing the road with cars. And with dogs.
And what great trams they are – the Bombardier Flexibility 2... it bends in the middle!
It’s a lovely ride, when I can get someone to take me!
And on special days you’ll hear the clickety clack of the old Heritage Trams, the kind that used to run on the tracks here. They can take you away on a heritage ride, along the coast, from the Ferry Terminal in Fleetwood to the Starr Gate in Blackpool!
And if you are very lucky, you might see a tram that looks like a fishing trawler. It’s based on the world-famous Fleetwood ship that’s seen on every packet of Fisherman’s Friends lozenges.
it is so strange to see a ship moving on land instead water!
